Despite travel ban, Uma Thurman's stalker spotted in N.Y.C.

Uma Thurman's creepy stalker was back in the city Friday - and he's not welcome to stay.

Jack Jordan sat silently in a lower Manhattan park across the street from the courthouse where he was sentenced to three years' probation on Monday for stalking the Hollywood star.

Though the terms of Jordan's probation do not strictly prohibit him from stepping foot in the five boroughs, he needs permission from his Maryland-based probation officer to leave the state, according to officials.

"We're looking for him now, and if we find him we're telling him he has to leave," said Jack Ryan, spokesman for the New York Department of Probation.

Thurman is in Europe filming a movie, but that didn't stop Jordan - whose probation was assigned to officers in Maryland because his parents live there - from coming back to haunt the actress' hometown.

Wearing jeans and a fleece jacket, Jordan was sitting on a park bench along Hogan Place smoking a hand-rolled cigarette about 2 p.m., when a group of reporters spotted him near the Manhattan Criminal Court building.

He took a drag from the cigarette and never made eye contact with the reporters, staring straight ahead and ignoring their shouted questions.

After sitting there for 10 minutes, Jordan silently stood up, adjusted the black messenger bag on his back and walked north along Centre St.

The former mental patient did not have a court appearance or an appointment with New York probation officers, officials said.

"We suspect that he did not fully understand that he needed permission in order to travel out of state," said Ryan, who added that Jordan would not be arrested, just told to leave.

Jordan - who sent bizarre e-mails and cards to Thurman professing his love - avoided jail time when sentenced, to the disappointment of prosecutors and police.

"Anyone who has ever spoken to this guy knew that probation was a mistake," a police source said. "He is flat-out crazy, and once he goes off his meds - and he will - he'll be right back stalking her. He can't help himself."

Uma Thurman Gets Minnie Driver's Baby Bump in the Picture

Minnie Driver's baby landed her a role in new film 'Motherhood'. When Uma Thurman found out that Minnie was pregnant she immediately got her cast in the movie alongside her. Minnie - who is seven months pregnant with her first child - plays a pregnant woman in the film, and didn't have to rely on pillows to enhance her baby bump.

After being cast in the movie, Minnie admitted she was terrified about working with "beautiful" Uma. She said: "I'm going to make a film with Uma Thurman, who I've never even met and I'm fairly intimidated by the idea of making a film with this gorgeous woman. I'm really hoping that my waters don't break on her shoes or something in the middle of a scene." The 38-year-old actress has so far refused to reveal the father's identity, but has previously hinted he is English and "sort of in the same business".

Speaking of her pregnancy last month, she said: "This was an unplanned pregnancy, it's been very happily received by everyone, which is great. It's something I've wanted to do my whole life. I can't believe I've waited this long." Minnie's sister Kate is also pregnant, by 'The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian' producer Matthew Stillman.

Romantic comedy 'Motherhood', which also stars former 'ER' actor Anthony Edwards, is being filmed now, and will be released in 2009.
